Today multilateralism is increasingly under attack and geopolitical divisions are widening. But here at the #COP30 Local Leaders Forum in Rio, I am hearing how cities, states and regions continue to work with each other across borders, deploy solutions and build trust. In our increasingly polarized world they are proving that collaboration and cooperation triumphs over confrontation and chaos. Over 70% of the new NDCs submitted include a reference to the role subnational actors will play in implementing these new climate plans. Ten years on from Paris, when subnationals are being asked to move even faster, now is the time that they be formally recognised in the @UN climate process. #ClimateAction
