Here we are FIVE MONTHS later since Trump started his war with Iran. Trump has told us FORTY times that a deal is close and the war is nearly over. But now he's asking for $70 billion more—just trust him, it'll work out fine. NO WAY.

I will NOT support rubberstamping Trump's request to bankroll his war with Iran and whatever other misadventures he wants to get us into next. The American people want to see a quick end to this war, not $70 billion of their tax dollars sent to keep it going.

Speaker Johnson extended the DHS shutdown for over a MONTH for no reason at all. This is the same bill the Senate passed five weeks ago. An inexcusable failure by House Republicans. But it’s a very good thing the TSA, FEMA, Coast Guard, & more will finally be funded.

On April 1st, Speaker Johnson vowed to fund DHS "in the coming days." Must have been an April Fools’ joke because INSTEAD, Johnson has extended the shutdown for FOUR WEEKS and counting. So if Speaker Johnson is looking for someone to blame for the shutdown, get him a mirror.

REMINDER: The Senate unanimously passed a bill to fund DHS 31 days ago. We passed it unanimously AGAIN 25 days ago. But instead of ending the DHS shutdown and funding agencies like TSA & the Secret Service, Speaker Johnson has dragged his feet & failed to put it up for a vote.

Karoline is right. The defunding of DHS is a scandal. The Senate UNANIMOUSLY passed a bill to fund Secret Service & TSA, but MAGA House Republicans have held it up for a month to secure more money for mass deportations. If this Admin is serious about DHS, it needs to get its own house in order.

The President spent more on bombs in ONE WEEK of his war with Iran than we spend in an entire YEAR to help parents afford child care. Trump & RFK Jr. are asking to spend $500B more for war—but they won't increase funding for child care by a cent.
