State Dept Spox:
"Ambassador Bozell went to South Africa's Department of International Relations and Cooperation (DIRCO) to discuss the bilateral relationship. He stressed that the United States has been clear about the relationship we seek. We are not interested in diplomatic maneuvering, procedural delays, or dialogue for dialogue’s sake. The ball is now squarely in the Government of South Africa’s court to outline the relationship it wants with the United States and respond accordingly to President Trump’s executive order."

Chaskalson tends to get over excited.
He has no idea why he lead evidence on payments relating to the stokvel and fails to put to Sibanyoni what inferences relating to him are being drawn from this.

I don't understand Commissioner Baloyi's posture today. She seems to be going opposite Advocate Chaskalson. My observation might be wrong.
One thing I love about Advocate Sello, when she has formulated her strategy on how she's going to lead evidence of a witness and how to probe, and Commissioners mess up with that, she goes for them too, even Chair himself. I've seen her putting her foot down many times. I think Commissioner Baloyi threw Advocate Chaskalson off a few times. It's disturbing.

Ramaphosa appealing to men to stop committing GBVF is an admission of failure on his part as President and his government, and signifies the collapse of law and order.
The State with its might and resources should not be negotiating with perpetrators of crime, but rather be enforcing the law with the harshness required to deter other potential perpetrators.
South Africa is a lawless country, and that lawlessness emanates from Ramaphosa himself as President to the ordinary citizen in the street.
Until the law is enforced without fear or favour, and the police are not criminals themselves, there is no plan against GBVF that is going to yield any meaningful results.
How is cutting grass and getting street lights working going to end GBVF when women have been raped inside police stations by the police?
