This morning, Deputy Inspector General of Police James Ocaya @JamesOcaya paid a courtesy visit to the CID Headquarters in Kibuli. During the visit, he was taken on a guided tour to assess the progress of the Crime Data Analysis Centre (CDAC), as well as the proposed site for the construction of a new Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) Facility. In his remarks, DIGP Ocaya appreciated the work being undertaken and pledged his support to the team to achieve the desired outcomes. The CDAC is designed to strengthen data-driven policing and support the Police in efficiently analysing crime data, identifying trends and patterns, and enhancing the effectiveness of criminal investigations.

This morning, I paid a courtesy call on H.E. Virginie Leroy, the French Ambassador to Uganda, at the French Embassy in Kampala. We had a cordial exchange on the strong partnership between Uganda and France, and on areas of shared interest and cooperation, especially the work of the Agence Française de Développement (@AFD_France) and how its support aligns with the priorities of @mofpedU and, by extension, the Government of Uganda. I thank the Ambassador for the warm reception and for France's continued friendship and support to Uganda's development. A new transmission corridor between Uganda and South Sudan is set to reshape opportunities for cross-border electricity trade. The Uganda–South Sudan Interconnection Power Project (SUPIP) will establish a 299-kilometre, 400 kV double-circuit transmission line connecting Olwiyo in northern Uganda to Juba/Gumbo in South Sudan.
