We can't have a congresswoman compromised by even the perception of foreign influence. Jahana Hayes should immediately withdraw from ActBlue and work with the DOJ to identify any foreign donations she may have received, knowingly or not, through this shady platform.

Connecticut families and young people are getting killed on their electric bill, but there’s a bipartisan solution: unlocking more energy to meet demand. In Congress, I’ll work across the aisle to pass permitting reform and streamline regulations so that we can build more energy and transmission infrastructure. More electrons on the grid means lower electric bills for our working families.

On Thursday, I posted a message urging prayer for Charlie Kirk, who was murdered one year ago. Despite the disagreements that many on the left had with Charlie, many Democrats, including 4 of Connecticut's members of Congress, chose to join arms with Republicans and condemn political violence and honor Charlie’s memory. Jahana Hayes did not. She voted against the resolution condemning political violence and honoring Charlie Kirk, and now her supporters are spewing vile hatred on a post that simply urges prayer and thoughts for the family and young people who loved Charlie. I hope that Jahana Hayes thinks more carefully about the rhetoric she uses, and calls on her supporters to reject political violence.

On September 11th, 2001, 2,977 people lost their lives, including 160+ from Connecticut. And since then, countless first responders who went into the fires and the wreckage have been lost to disease or are still suffering. Today, we honor the lives lost and the sacrifice that the heroes who ran toward danger made twenty-five years ago. We will never forget.

One year ago, Charlie Kirk, a great American patriot, was assassinated. Charlie centered his life around Christ and believed that our country was worth fighting for. He spent every day having conversations with young people, trying to peacefully persuade those he disagreed with. His loss is deeply felt by his family, friends, and the millions of young people he inspired. Today, let us celebrate his life. Let us pray for his family. And let us hope that the way Charlie approached life, faith, and politics continues to inspire young people and overcome the voices who advocate for violence.
