🚨 EUROPE IS PREPARING ITS CITIZENS FOR WAR—WHILE RUSSIA SAYS IT DOES NOT WANT ONE European governments are expanding reserves, rebuilding bunkers, increasing weapons production and teaching civilians how to survive a major conflict. At the same time, Putin has repeatedly said Russia has no interest in attacking a European country. In 2000, Putin even raised the possibility of Russia joining NATO with President Bill Clinton. According to Putin’s later account, Clinton initially called the idea “interesting” before saying it was not possible. Think about that: if Russia had become a NATO partner, the alliance would have lost the powerful enemy used to justify its continued expansion. NATO describes itself as a defensive alliance. Yet it has repeatedly conducted military operations far beyond the defense of its own territory, from Yugoslavia and Afghanistan to Libya. Today, European leaders speak constantly about confrontation, retaliation and preparing their populations for war. Russia is surrounded by an expanding military alliance and then portrayed as irrational for reacting. Now Sergey Lavrov has delivered the response one would expect from the foreign minister of the world’s largest nuclear power: ⚠️ “IF NATO ATTACKS RUSSIA, THE WAR WILL BE VERY SHORT.” ⚠️ That is not reassurance. It is a warning about how quickly a direct NATO–Russia confrontation could become catastrophic. European citizens should ask their leaders one urgent question: ARE YOU PREPARING TO PREVENT A WAR—OR PREPARING US TO FIGHT ONE?
