🚨 What I did in the $DOG / @bitget situation this week & a playbook for anyone who faces sth similar: Followin Bitget’s security incident, withdrawals were suspended On Sept 25, while withdrawals were still unavailable, Bitget announced that $DOG/USDT would be delisted Havin funds on a CEX while withdrawals r suspended & receivin a delistin announcement is obviously not a comfortable situation NO panic, it’s what we did: 1️⃣ Verified everything through official sources I checked the delistin announcement, withdrawal suspension & every subsequent update directly from Bitget rather than relyin on posts or rumors 2️⃣ Opened support tickets immediately I specifically asked about $DOG on BTCRUNES, whether withdrawals would reopen & whether users would have enough time to withdraw 3️⃣ Kept records of everything Screenshots, emails, ticket numbers, support responses & official announcements were saved 4️⃣ I did NOT panic sell A few days later Bitget postponed the $DOG delistin, kept spot tradin active & confirmed that withdrawals would gradually reopen 5️⃣ Prepared the exit before withdrawals reopened I verified that @krakenfx accepted $DOG deposits through BTCRUNES & prepared the correct deposit address 6️⃣ When withdrawals reopened today, I did NOT send everything First, I sent a small test withdrawal from Bitget → Kraken I waited for Bitget to process it, found the transaction on Bitcoin, waited for confirmations & then confirmed that the $DOG actually arrived in my Kraken account 7️⃣ Only after the entire route was proven did I withdraw the rest That transaction also confirmed successfully & all my $DOG is now out of @bitget & received at @krakenfx The biggest lesson: When things go wrong with a CEX, don’t let fear make the decisions Verify → document → communicate → prepare → test → confirm on chain → then execute Hopefully this experience helps another holder handle a similar situation safely

Despite the exploit occurring only hours earlier, with withdrawals still frozen, Bitget made a delisting announcement for $DOG. The combination of the $DOG delisting announcement, the inability for users to withdraw, and broader trust concerns following the hack resulted in a significant price dislocation event for $DOG on Bitget. Making a delisting announcement while withdrawals are paused, particularly just hours after a major exploit and during a period of heightened market uncertainty, is highly abnormal for an exchange. This is the type of behavior one might expect from smaller, less reputable exchanges, but not from an established and respected exchange such as Bitget. As a result, $DOG's price on Bitget has significantly decoupled from prices on other exchanges, directly impacting Bitget users who hold or trade $DOG. Bitget has been a popular and trusted venue for trading $DOG for two and a half years, and it is disappointing to see longtime $DOG holders negatively affected in this way after being loyal to Bitget for so long. Furthermore, $DOG is a major cryptocurrency project with one of the strongest and most active memecoin communities in all of crypto.
