No, you mustn’t get angry, you mustn’t fight, you need to calm yourself, you have to allow the enemy to win because the alternative would be to abandon the principles of classical liberalism, and instead you should withdraw into a monastery to wait out the darkness. Or something. Perhaps that’s an unfair characterization, but it’s hard to avoid coming to unfair characterizations when elderly Principled Conservatives spend so much of their time tut-tutting at the angry young white men for failing to treat a war that happened before their parents were born as the political horizon mandating perpetual servitude as the racial underclass of a society their elders have seen fit to hand over to women and foreigners. You understand why the young white men are angry, Rod? Great. What precisely do you think they should do with that anger? How precisely should they proceed in winning back their civilization? Stop telling them what not to do, and come up with something resembling an actual plan. If you can’t do that, scolding them for being insufficiently deferential to your boomer sacred cows helps no one but the enemy.

Republican megadonor Tim Mellon has sharply reduced his political giving this cycle after the Senate failed to pass the SAVE America Act, according to The New York Times. Mellon gave nearly $200 million during the 2024 election cycle but has made roughly $3.1 million in publicly disclosed contributions to Republican candidates and groups so far this cycle. The Times reported that Mellon told Republicans he was withholding donations from Senate candidates because lawmakers failed to pass the Trump-backed voting legislation.
