Like something conjured up by Philip Dick+Douglas Adams+Rod Serling+Kubrick on a wild drunken romp, The Anomaly by @HerveLeTellier genre jumps from drama to sci-fi to black comedy to thriller to philosophical riddle & more. Deliriously & deliciously mind-bending .. loved it👌

The Lincoln Highway by @amortowles is an exhilarating romp of a road trip, a true ‘escapade’, with delightful quirky characters reminiscent of Dickens & Twain, x-rayed lovingly & empathically so we get what really makes them tick. It’s 576 pages short, wish it were a 1000 more👏🏽

Rahul Rawail’s book on his mentor Raj Kapoor is a delirious and outstanding riot of a read.. part homage, part memoir, part master-class :) If you’re a fan of either director or their work, if you’re a film student or a film lover… you absolutely have to read it :)

1. From Audrey Hepburn to Fellini & Leone, the Beatles to the Dalai Lama & scores more, @iKabirBedi autobiography bursts with all the entertainment & audacious anecdotes you’d expect of a film star in two industries (India & Italy). But it’s way, way more than that. (Contd)

Sufi is insanely exciting - Shantaram meets Dickens - a dual memoir of two boys growing up in 1930s-60s Bombay where Mastaan & Vardha are new entrants, Dawood is a teen. Join author Aabid Surti, Sriram, Annie Zaidi & me this evening case free - if not do read Sufi, it's deadly👍

The Wandering Earth (Netflix) is an absolute stunner - insanely awesome, visually gorgeous, breathlessly paced, fabulously plotted with climax after climax ... and yet rooted in a terrific emotional family core. Fans of sci fi will be blown. Deserved an IMAX release.

Wonderfully written piece on breaking phone addiction. Much needed advice in today’s time when the enemy to Focus constantly lurks inches away from us in plain sight. Been intrigued by this since I read The Shallows, on how the Net is rewiring our brains. nytimes.com/2019/02/23/busin…

The intriguing Kumbalangi Nights (eng subs) pits four loser brothers against the "perfect man" & superbly gear-shifts genres from a quirky family drama to a hyper creepy take on patriarchy as the perfect man with the perfect smile harbours another sinister primitive persona 👏🏽

Love the Andhadhun posters & that the writers are credited prominently. Close friends all, but specially delighted to see Yogesh Chandekar get his feature cowriting debut credit. For the record, also a fab graphic novel writer & makes a mean missal :)

You may agree or disagree with Harari’s take on where we are probably headed, but it’ll definitely shake you up, leave you rattling & tinkling inside with many shattered perceptions & opinions :) Brilliant & beautifully written.
