How Speciesism Industrializes
the Logic of Racism
How humans enslave, torture, abuse and murder animals.
The contempt-based worldview of speciesism produces industrial-scale harm and moral evil by treating sentient individuals as objects defined solely by bodily form.
It declares human membership an automatic elevation above every other being, regardless of capacity to feel pain, fear, attachment, or preference. This elevation has no grounding in spiritual insight, coherent philosophy, or the science of consciousness and suffering. It rests only on the accident of species—the same arbitrary physical marker racism once used to rank humans.
The resulting harm
•Mass confinement and deprivation: Billions are born into cages and sheds where they cannot turn, nest, bond, or express basic behaviors. Their lives exist solely for extraction of flesh, milk, eggs, or labor.
•Routine pain and terror: Beak trimming, castration without anesthesia, forced impregnation, mother-offspring separation, and extreme transport are designed conditions, not side-effects.
•Industrial-scale torture and murder as ordinary practice: Tens of billions of land animals and far more aquatic animals endure confinement, mutilation, and fear before being killed for convenience. The process is continuous, mechanized, and global. It is not occasional cruelty but the everyday reduction of conscious individuals to raw material. The sheer volume exceeds any historical human atrocity. There is no “humane” version. Reducing sentient beings to production units and ending their lives on an assembly line is the absurdity itself: a civilization claiming moral progress while institutionalizing mass torture and killing solely because the bodies do not match the privileged form.
•Psychological corrosion: Language and education train empathy to stop at the species line. Children learn that the capacity for fear and pain that matters in a human does not matter in a pig, cow, or chicken—the same selective blindness that accompanied every form of group domination.
•Further consequences: The system drives deforestation, pollution, antibiotic resistance, and zoonotic risk by treating non-human lives as material rather than subjects of experience.
These are the logical outcomes of ranking beings by physical traits and treating the lower ranks as available for ridicule, ownership, abuse, and disposal.

True elevation does not consist in standing above other beings. It consists in refusing to stand above anyone. The elevated human recognizes that the capacity to suffer is not confined to her species and that moral consideration follows sentience, not species membership. She sees herself as one among many conscious individuals, not owner or apex of the living world. Humility and empathy are the refusal to participate in contempt—the recognition that the same arbitrary ranking once used for racial enslavement and genocide still operates when species membership licenses industrial domination, confinement, torture, and killing.
Any worldview that rests on “we are human, therefore we may” is structurally identical to “we are of this race, therefore we may.” Both are contempt dressed as natural order. The only coherent alternative is consistent moral consideration for every being capable of experience, without exception for form, without hierarchy by bodily traits, and without the claim that one species sits above all others.

This time a 6 year old Shiva!!!! Look at the chains holding him, him being dragged by both ears, him being intimidated by those sticks💔
His eyes show how freaking terrified he is! He also misses his mom! Stop this brutality. God will also cry!!
LOOK AT LITTLE SHIVA.
Said to be just 6 years old, this tiny elephant is one of 5 baby elephants brought from Assam to Tamil Nadu temples. Shiva is now at the Thiruvannamalai temple.
But how old is Shiva really? His age, provenance, parentage, microchip, DNA and ownership records must be independently verified.
Durga: 3,000+ km in ~6 days to Madurai.
Shiva: 3,000+ km in ~9 days to Tamil Nadu.
These babies are being transported thousands of kilometres for temple confinement, raising serious concerns about welfare, provenance, ownership and legality.
The floodgates have opened, thanks to the role of traders, brokers and intermediaries, and the ownership, surrender and approval processes have been manipulated or misused.
And now, look at how little Shiva is being handled. Sticks and weapons are reportedly being used to intimidate him, while he is dragged by both ears.
This is the pinnacle of cruelty.
How can this be called “better upkeep” when the stated reason for gifting these babies to temples was that their so-called owners could no longer provide better care?
APPEAL TO THE HON’BLE CHIEF MINISTER OF TAMIL NADU @CMOTamilnadu @actorvijay
Please intervene immediately. Ensure independent due diligence into all five elephants and verify their age, DNA, microchip, parentage, provenance, ownership history, surrender records and money trail.
Please investigate who facilitated these transfers and stop any further movement of baby elephants into Tamil Nadu.
And most importantly, please explore every lawful possibility of returning these babies to Assam and reuniting them with their mothers and natural social groups.
They are babies. They belong with their families—not in temple confinement.
