The Ballad of Sir Hoodwink, the Most Distinguished Penis in Christendom
In the Year of Our Lord 1469, there wandered the realm a curious gentleman known only as Sir Hoodwink.
He was, by all visible accounts...
...a penis.
Not a vulgar one.
But a rather remarkably polite penis.
He bowed before nobles, tipped his hood to passing ladies, paid his taxes on time, and never interrupted another man while he was speaking.
Because of these uncommon virtues, society simply accepted him.
To mention his appearance was considered terribly poor manners.
King Aldric eventually summoned him to court.
"Sir Hoodwink," said the king, "our diplomats have failed, our treasury is empty, and France is being... France again."
Sir Hoodwink smiled.
Then he winked.
The royal council gasped.
"What magnificent strategy," whispered one advisor.
No one had the courage to admit they had absolutely no idea what the wink meant.
Within the hour, Sir Hoodwink was appointed Lord Chancellor.
Foreign kings dreaded his arrival.
He would enter the throne room...
Say nothing.
Smile politely.
Wink once.
And sit.
Negotiations immediately swung in his favor.
Entire treaties were signed simply because no monarch wished history to record that he had been psychologically defeated by a smiling penis in a hood.
Monks wrote volumes attempting to decode his mysterious wisdom.
One claimed the wink represented divine mercy.
Another argued it symbolized the fleeting nature of earthly power.
A third simply wrote,
"I know not what I have witnessed, but I feel strangely outmaneuvered."
When Sir Hoodwink passed into legend, a statue was erected in the town square.
The sculptor insisted it represented humility beneath the hood.
Everyone else quietly agreed.
To this day, travelers still visit the monument.
They remove their hats.
They pay their respects.
And before leaving...
...they cannot help but wink back.
For in the kingdom it is said:
"He who laughs at Sir Hoodwink often finds himself the greater fool."
