I was on the phone with a friend when my daughter asked for me to bake cookies for her and her friends. I told her it would have to wait a minute. My husband said “don’t worry I can handle this.” He put the cookies in the oven. I went to get them out and they were not done. I started laughing. I told him he was supposed to separate the cookies individually. He started laughing and said “oh, well they aren’t pretty but we can still eat them.” He’s right. They are still edible and I give him an A for effort. :)

My “shift” from “left to right,” which led me to vote Republican (Trump, nonetheless) for the first time in my life in 2024, was a deliberate response to what I eventually realized were longstanding issues I had with the Democratic Party. I am not prepared to change course at this time. It’s Republican-or-bust until further notice, for me.
