I donât trust foreign governments to put Americans first and I especially donât think we should shrug when one spends years building relationships inside our state institutions.
Indiaâs Seattle Consulate has cultivated Montana officials, universities, businesses and students. They even described one program as creating young âbrand Ambassadors for India.â
It later hosted a large Montana delegation at an Invest India Business Forum designed to promote Indian investment, exports and industry linkages.
Then Montana spent months planning Gianforteâs India mission with T & A Consulting Private Limited, an India-headquartered firm led by Tarun Gupta and Rachna Gupta, and its Canada-based affiliate, T&A Consulting Americas Inc., led by Saurabh Khanna. T&A publicly says it is supporting the mission in Delhi and Bengaluru.
T&A has also previously served as the Knowledge Partner implementing an official Government of India investment program through an Indian Embassy.
Maybe every piece of this is perfectly legitimate, but Indiaâs government is not working for Montana. It is working for India and we should not accept foreign influence becoming another normal part of American government.
And now the same Indian Consulate is organizing invite-only Diwali events at state capitols and governorsâ mansions across its region, with RSVPs going directly to an .gov.in address.
Itâs shocking how deeply a foreign government has been allowed to embed itself inside American state institutions before most Americans even noticed.
If Montana University System expands J1 or H1B staffing then I will vote AGAINST renewing their $35 million property tax levy which funds them
Montana homeowners shouldn't be taxed a single penny to pay the salary of new foreign teachers they hire because of this trip
