One of the greatest gifts the military ever gave me was the opportunity to look a person in the eye (who had a gun to my head), run though all the options available, and select death as opposed to doing what they are telling me to do.
I knew in that moment that I was gone from the training environment and had mentally drawn a line on what I would do if presented that option. It wasn't just a training decision but a conviction all the way to my soul regarding what I would do.
Even in death you can still win because you did not bend the knee when told to do so.
