The vehicle ultimately identified in the fatal crash was MAROON. Her vehicle didn’t have the collision damage. And the Flock data actually placed her miles from the crash shortly before it happened. THEY CHARGED HER WITH EIGHT FELONIES ANYWAY. 3 people were dead and this innocent young woman was suddenly facing the possibility of spending the rest of her life in prison for something she DID NOT DO. She spent 13 days in jail. For approximately 86 HOURS, she said that cell door didn’t open. She described being put in a suicide gown that didn’t properly cover her. She eventually reached a point where she didn’t want to be alive anymore. For a crash she had NOTHING to do with. Then the case collapsed. The charges were dropped. Another driver was arrested. Think about that. An innocent 23-year-old lost her freedom because investigators built a case around the wrong vehicle and surveillance data instead of letting the rest of the evidence tell them they had the wrong person. And we’re supposed to be comfortable putting these cameras on roads all across America? NO. A camera hit is not guilt. Surveillance data should NEVER substitute for an actual investigation. Until there are ironclad safeguards, independent verification, consequences for misuse and REAL accountability when innocent Americans are destroyed by bad investigations built around this technology: GET THESE THINGS OFF OUR STREETS. A White woman in Philadelphia is being hailed as a HERO after she saw a Black man se*ually assaulting a 63-year-old woman in BROAD daylight... ...and she stepped in and BEAT HIM OFF WITH HER BIKE HELMET!!!! She then took pictures as he ran away so police could identify him. And afterward? She went WITH the woman to report what happened. ❤️ Her name is Mary Martin. On Monday afternoon, a 63-year-old woman visiting her son in Philadelphia was walking near 18th and Federal streets. It was around 4:15 p.m. Restaurants were open. People were nearby. Police say a man came up behind her, grabbed her, and groped her. Mary saw what was happening. She yelled at him. The man tried to walk away, and Mary could see how upset the woman was. So she used what she had in her hand. A BIKE HELMET. Mary says she struck him with it as she tried to keep him from leaving the scene. Then she realized she was putting herself in danger. She took pictures of him as he fled, handed them over to detectives, and returned to check on the woman. But here's the part that got me... Mary accompanied her to the Special Victims Unit to make a report. Think about that. This woman was in town visiting her son, then a man grabbed her on the street in the middle of the afternoon. And someone cared enough to step in... and keep helping AFTER the man was gone. Mary told local news: “We have to look out for each other.” Police are still searching for the suspect, but we already know the name of the woman who stepped up. Mary Martin.
