You’re right the process is also incredibly intrusive.
Be prepared for them to deny you again, even if you’re recommended.
The whole thing is a mine field.

My experience is most pilots don’t really understand the word.

@ALPAPilots and other pilot unions do little to no education on what a union is, or how it really works. They don’t understand the RLA, and NMB and how that differs from other unions under the NLRB.
It’s unfortunate.
It leads into you mentioning how people get stuck at airlines
