Some argue the data center backlash is ideological. We ran the numbers. 70+% of local data center bans and moratoriums were passed in Republican counties. It’s not a partisan red vs blue issue. #AI #datacenters #Midterms2026 #Democrat #republican

I don’t necessarily agree with this FT headline and framing, but there’s definitely a lot at stake in the AI buildout. The amount of debt and lending in play here has massive implications for the broader US and global economy and financial system. Watch this space. @FT

Ohio is a crucial swing state in the data center debate. Whoever understands Ohio in depth, at a local level, holds meaningful alpha. #Ohio #datacenters

Local data center opposition saw exponential growth in Q2/Q3 of this year. When you zoom into the data and our time-lapse, the lift off after April is impressive. September broke records given post summer effect and midterms. We expect this trend to continue. #AI #datacenters

This is such a WILD time lapse. We just hit 1,000 local data center bans in the US. From 80 in January to 1,000 today across 45 states. Wherever you stand on data centers, the local backlash is real. We track it for you at reglayer.ai. #AI #datacenters #buildout

SaaS companies seeing Anthropic’s ARR growth flatline
👀 Interesting data from @tickerplus. Acc to this data, Anthropic's ARR seems to have flatlined around the time when the token index peaked. Many people questioned (rightly) at the time the inferential value of our token index for frontier labs due to the incomplete coverage. We had argued that the token index was likely a leading indicator for where AI usage was headed.

if you’re a venture backed founder, you should be 100x more ambitious & risk seeking than you think you should be. i’ve unfortunately made this mistake constantly. your brain naturally wants to take the next logical step & you obviously fight that instinct because you have to. so naturally you end up at like 10x. but 10x is still more than likely extrapolation of existing trends. if you want to end up somewhere genuinely far ahead you have to think 100x while still making sure what you’re up to is familiar & relatable. very difficult multi dimensional problem all around.

The @BostonCollege Investment Committee (an LP and my beloved alma mater) asked for a few thoughts on what's happening in AI. I recorded a test run yesterday morning and then shared it with my partners, who encouraged me to share it more broadly... so here you go! This is not a sales pitch, it's just a reflection on what we're seeing. And it wasn't intended to be shared, so please pardon the rough edges. loom.com/share/c016702964a04…

Congrats @foundersontap to a great first NYC event yesterday @Selinaliyy. Got helpful pointers on content marketing for founders from zauey.talks who shared more about her journey as a creator and investor. I also enjoyed the Bubble Lab demo.

It’s interesting to see long time data center darling states like Florida and Texas tightening in the current cycle. Georgia seems to stay course with strong incentives and a regime that’s still supportive. NY and OR are the most restrictive. #datacenters #AI #buildout

every major company is arriving at roughly the same offering: persistent memory, email/calendar/messages, browser + computer use, background tasks, proactive notifications, voice, app/tool execution, ambient context, & some notion of a personal agent sitting above everything. remarkable levels of convergence with very little differentiation whatsoever.

Meanwhile the data center debate continues: 500+ moratoria have been passed in 2026. At the same time, SB Energy and NScale are racing towards an IPO. Bearish signals on the ground, bullish sentiment in the capital & financing markets. We track it all at reglayer.ai #datacenters

I don’t fully agree with the PoV and arguments in this NYT piece. But event hosts and community managers certainly have a responsibility that needs to be taken seriously. That’s what we aim for at NYC Founders & Operators. A safe and professional environment. #NYT
