Meloni vows to hold rioters accountable
Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni said throwing stones, firecrackers and sticks during demonstrations carries a penalty of up to five years in prison and a fine of up to €20,000.
“Destruction and looting are not protest — they are criminal acts,” Meloni stressed.
Parents will be held financially responsible for damage caused by minors.
Another 500 troops will be deployed to Milan to support the police.
