Friday, 9/11 7-Day Forecast: Shower and storm chances increase heading into today and Saturday. Some storms could become strong to severe (see previous post for more details). Staying hot with additional storm chances towards the middle of next week!

Hot and more humid on Thursday with afternoon highs in the low/mid 90s. A Heat Index near 100. Hot and humid through the start of the weekend along with increasing chances for scattered showers and storms at times Friday through Sunday. Not all day rainfall, but outdoor activities could be interrupted at times. With more cloud cover on Saturday there is a chance that afternoon temps "might" stay below 90 which could stop the streak of consecutive days in a row above 90. Time will tell! #CHAwx #Chattanooga

It is never to early to look ahead to the weekend! Hot and more humid by Friday along with increasing chances for scattered showers and storms at times. This unsettled and muggy weather pattern could continue through the weekend. No all day wash outs, but expect some interruptions at times for outdoor activities. #CHAwx #Chattanooga

Chattanooga is on track to possibly set a new record: the longest 90° day stretch. The current record is 38 days that was set in 1993. Data goes back to 1879. As of yesterday, September 7th, 2026, our current stretch is 35 days. This makes it the 2nd longest stretch on record
