It has been nearly 15 years since I did a pastel work. Learned it from Nancy Thompson at Ames, IA. A very patient teacher and I enjoyed her classes, so this weekend replicated her method, listening to music while giving my interpretation of Indrani from Udaipur museum. #selfcare

In Tamil "Aravamanai".
In Marathi "Vizhi" with the hard La.
My Amma, Ammamma used this a lot for cutting and peeling vegetables in kitchen. Used to cut quite well. In Telugu we call it Katthi Peeta literally meaning "Knife (Katthi) on a stand (Peeta)".
In Telangana it's called as Elipeeta.
Again with many new cutting boards coming in, don't see this much in cities , now mostly in small towns. How many of you experienced this?

A long time in the making, our latest work on large-scale membrane MD simulations is finally out!
We show that LC3 forms nanoclusters on autophagosomes, with implications for how they bind cargo and move!!
A wonderful collaboration with Nitin Ram’s lab who spearheaded experimental work at IIT Kanpur, and great help from Anirban Banerjee on the xenophagy experiments. Big congratulations to our first authors of the study Saman and Deepak and to the entire team!
