The entire voting population in the local government migrated to Udomi. @inecnigeria is an accomplice in this act. It must openly provide answers to Nigerians on these salient issues
In 2024, Governor Okpebholo's polling unit had 397 voters on the register. In 2026, it has 4,783. That's 4,386 new voters, a 1,105% increase. A Guinness World Record? @inecnigeria, please explain. 👀

INDEPENDENT NATIONAL ELECTORAL COMMISSION PRESS STATEMENT CLARIFICATION ON ALLEGED AI-GENERATED PHOTOGRAPHS IN THE PRELIMINARY REGISTER OF VOTERS The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has noted public concerns and reports circulating on social media regarding suspected AI-generated photographs appearing in the Preliminary Register of Voters recently published on its website. The Commission wishes to clarify that the register published online on 26 October 2026 is the same preliminary register physically displayed at Registration Areas (RAs) nationwide from 9th to 15th October 2026 as part of the Display, Claims and Objections exercise. During the physical display, a number of questionable registration records were identified and flagged for further examination. The Commission commenced the process of reviewing these records and taking appropriate corrective action in accordance with established procedures. The online publication represents the original preliminary register and does not reflect all ongoing data-cleanup activities. It is important to emphasize that the preliminary register is not the final certified register. The Display, Claims and Objections exercise is specifically intended to facilitate public scrutiny, identify inaccuracies and irregularities, and enable appropriate corrections before certification. The Commission is also examining the circumstances surrounding the suspicious photographs, including possible technical or procedural lapses, and will take appropriate action based on verified findings. The Commission appreciates the vigilance of citizens and stakeholders who have brought these concerns to public attention. Such scrutiny contributes to the process of improving the accuracy and integrity of the register. INEC remains committed to completing the necessary verification, adjudication, and data-cleanup processes ahead of the scheduled certification of the final Register of Voters on 15th December 2026. The Commission assures Nigerians that verified irregularities will be addressed through the applicable procedures and that further updates will be provided as the review progresses. Dear vanguard newspapers, I didn't say the images were associated with the governor, I said it's the governor's home town of udomi. Also at this stage, U will not tell me you still cannot analyse that these images are AI. Journalism is a noble profession and it is sad most media houses in Nigeria have turned it to brown envelope machine

Thank you prof
INEC cannot afford to be careless with the credibility of Nigeria’s electoral process. The presence of AI-generated images in a register meant to support our democracy raises serious questions about verification, transparency and accountability. Our democracy is at stake here!

@inecnigeria restricted access to the online register from foreign IP addresses, as if Nigerians abroad have no right to scrutinise the register. There is no process/form for submitting claims and objections online. Several deceased people are still listed in my polling unit, including my late father. Am I supposed to book a flight across the Atlantic and travel to my LGA just to report that my father is dead and should be removed from the register? INEC, this is 2026. Your disregard for Nigerians is insulting. You demand public trust but you make public scrutiny needlessly difficult. Please provide a clear process for objections online. Fix this embarrassment. Nigerians should not have to drag you into doing your job.
