**They Dont Work For You** They sprayed toxic fluorescent particles over American cities for years. Most people never knew. The people who were supposed to protect the public ran open air tests on the public for nearly 30 years and never seemed to have enough data. Between the late 1940s and 1969 the U.S. Army Chemical Corps released zinc cadmium sulfide over cities and countryside to see how a biological weapon cloud would travel. The powder glowed under ultraviolet light. That made it easy to track. Safety was not the reason they picked it. The tests ran in San Francisco, St. Louis, Minneapolis, Corpus Christi, Fort Wayne, and many other places. In St. Louis they released it from rooftops, station wagons, and aircraft. In San Francisco they released it from a ship offshore. Operation LAC, Large Area Coverage, carried the particles across huge stretches of the country from the Rockies toward the Atlantic. Cadmium is a heavy metal. Cadmium sulfide is treated by the EPA as a human carcinogen. Long exposure is tied to lung cancer, kidney damage, and bone disease. The test particles were small enough to be breathed deep into the lung. A 1997 National Research Council review put the highest inhaled cadmium doses in populated areas at about 6 to 24 micrograms. The panel said cancer risk at those one time estimates looked very low and was unlikely to show up as a clear wave of extra cases. That conclusion used short exposure math. It did not fully settle what happens when the same neighborhood is hit more than once. Yes, they were repeatedly spraying the same communities. It did not settle the extra risk for children. Cadmium stays in the body. A single number on a page with false assumptions leaning to the short exposure was cover the government uses when investigating itself. There is no stamp on a 1960 lung cancer file that says Army spray, 1953. The illness looks like other urban disease. Smoking, factory smoke, and the test dust can sit in the same lung. The Army did not keep a list of the people under the plume. There was no health registry at the time. Follow up came decades later, after people had moved, gotten sick, or died. Any harm blended into ordinary city death records. The public learned about the program in the 1970s through Senate hearings. The tests had already stopped. People under the cloud were never told they had been part of it. Folks who thought it was a conspiracy that chemtrail were a thing probably had no idea that ritual poisoning for 29 years never seemed to collect enough data to make the army happy. This is in the declassified file. The Army acknowledged the program. The National Research Council reviewed the compound. The open question is the cost that never got counted because nobody was counted. It would be nice to report that this was the only such program that took place but it wasn't.
