Today we’re launching @TryNearbyCom as part of @ycombinator S26, live with 120+ paying restaurants across Southern California.
We have spent the last 10 months doing restaurant visits with creators and sitting with hundreds of owners, learning what they actually need. That work grew us over 130% since the batch started with over 90% retention since November.
Excited to continue to make local businesses discoverable online, and to turn millions of locals into creators for the businesses around them.

If I had a ridiculous amount of funding that went directly into an org, I’m confident that it’d become a leading talent in our immediate space for sure. Easier said than done of course.
I love seeing new teams and larger ones come back but most times their visions are very narrow. Sticking to the cod community stuff can be fun and nostalgic but it has no real longevity or real world application (and most of these grown men are freaks). These teams are short lived for so many reasons and there’s simply no audience for them.
BUT I’m always interested in brand building if I had the right people around, we should just make a super group that isn’t restricted by cod community rules 🤝
