All the experts are going to be very confused when Trump continues to act like Xi is his best friend while simultaneously running around the world coercing bilateral deals that you would only expect to happen the day after China invaded Taiwan. Remember that every day that China continues to act calm and reserved is a win. We are playing for time. Every day we inch closer to rare earth independence. Every day we inch closer to global energy control. Every day we inch closer to ASI. Every day we inch closer to building the electric grid and re-industrializing under the veneer of the AI buildout. Every day we inch closer to figuring out ex-China drone supply chains. And most importantly every day we inch closer to Europe realizing how utterly fucked they would be if the U.S. shuts them out of our economy, withdraws access to liquidity, exits NATO, and opts to deprioritize their access to energy. Rome wasn’t built in a day. Undoing the Great Fuckening ™️ of prior (retarded) admins won’t happen overnight. But underneath the chaos we are progressing. Brazil to the right next. Iran will escalate and regime change. Cuba probably just for fun. Midterm Republican sweep 🫡

Do you think Europe will continue to be a vassal or does the US ultimately leave them in the lurch?

Continue to be a vassal but will likely partially fragment. Tbd. The Greece example post GFC is instructive as someone rightly highlighted in a prior post.

How do you evaluate your long held opinion of a republican midterm victory against the worsening polls?

Polls are faulty for reasons explained in prior posts

Sometimes I think we'd be better off losing the house, because Dems would certainly overreact and block and impeach and probably even be dangerous. It would be a good reminder to the independants. Am I overthinking this or being naive?

this is interesting... the smartest person making the most heterodox, high profile, binary argument i've seen in a while. you were right that nyc mayor race was closer than expected but cuomo still lost by a decent margin -- wondering if we'll see similar outcome here?

The cognitive dissonance is wild. He’s playing both sides so hard the rest of us are just left watching the magic trick unfold.

Well I hope for this & do think many in the administration think like this. Not sure if Trump himself does. Also, the Iran War & energy prices are highly likely to gut Republicans in the mid-terms & will likely lead to significant constraints on Trump in the second half of his term.

People aren’t ready for what Trump will do after the midterms. Did you hear that SOUTHCOM is consolidating forces for a potential Cuba operation? If Bolsonaro flips Brazil then Trump holds Congress, Cuba and Nicaragua are on borrowed time. Things are going to get a lot more aggressive with Canada and Mexico. Plus, I believe Trump restarts the campaign against Iran during the lame duck season.

If China was competent they'd be trying to make plays on the remaining chokepoints the US hasn't (South Africa) But people also overestimate how much China thinks about the rest of the world vs. Itself. China is a highly inward facing country (it's in the name).

You know I voted for the guy and I generally like your takes, but like most everyone voted for him I feel betrayed. Useless war, draining the swamp, he hasn’t followed through on anything and midterms will be disastrous IMO.

If republicans sweep, your account will blow up. Just don't become a "breaking" or "holy crap" spam account like that other one I use to follow that predicted 2024.

The average voter is insanely uninformed though. Not only that, people don’t see or seem to care about this long game. They want free money and lower costs at the end of the day.

Soon, every country will be in some kind of proxy war with China. Those killer robots and drones will be distributed to all sides just like in Ukraine. Let barbarians kill and/or manage barbarians is historically China's strategy according to Kissenger in his book "On China." Zelensky would never attack China so he's got a problem because those Jet powered advanced drones attacking him now are not undergoing more than trivial assembly anywhere besides China and his whole supply chain comes from China too.
