A school bus carrying 65 children started drifting into oncoming traffic after the driver suddenly lost consciousness. Most of the kids didn’t even realize what was happening at first because they were looking at their phones, playing games or wearing AirPods. But five rows back, 13-year-old Dillon Reeves noticed the driver’s hands drop from the wheel and the bus begin swerving into traffic. He didn’t hesitate. Dillon jumped up, ran to the front, grabbed the steering wheel and slammed on the brake, bringing the 15,000-pound school bus to a stop before it crashed. Then, with terrified kids screaming behind him and the driver still unconscious beside him, Dillon yelled for someone to call 911. All 65 students made it out without a single injury, and the bus driver was treated at the scene and later made a full recovery. That’s the kind of young hero people should know about.
