While the EU 🇪🇺 Commission is pushing Chat Control laws, wants age verification on social media for everyone, its President, Ursula von der Leyen, is allowed to automatically delete her chat messages:
"The EU Commission is apparently disregarding a clear recommendation from the EU Ombudsmen and continues to refuse to stop the automatic deletion of short communications and chat messages from its President Ursula von der Leyen."
In 2021 there was Pfizergate. Ursula von der Leyen allegedly negotiated a €35 billion COVID-19 vaccine contract with Pfizer via private messages with CEO Albert Bourla.
Back then, the Commission claimed it "could not find" these messages, before confirming later that crucial text messages have been deleted.
Citizens should know everything about their government, and their government nothing about them, not the other way around!

What happens on your Android phone when you simply leave it locked and untouched?
A 72-hour packet capture study by PraveenTechWorld measured background network activity on Pixel 8 devices.
According to the study, stock Android generated 348.4 outbound requests per hour toward Alphabet infrastructure, while their GrapheneOS setup without Google services recorded 0.0.
The researchers captured the traffic externally and published the raw dataset.
The interesting part isn't just the number. It's being able to measure what the phone is doing when you're not using it.
Would you expect 348 connections an hour from an idle phone?

Spain just blocked Archive Today.
Try to visit the web archive and many Spanish ISPs now redirect you to a government page warning:
“YOU ARE TRYING TO ACCESS AN ILLEGAL WEBSITE.”
It even tells users they’re “contributing to an illegal and criminal activity” simply by trying to access it.
A tool used by journalists and researchers to preserve the web is now treated like contraband.
The block reportedly followed a complaint from an unnamed rights holder and was imposed by Spain’s Intellectual Property Commission, not through a court ruling.
That's an entire web-archiving service blocked over copyright and the complainant isn’t even public.

California, Colorado, and Illinois have passed laws requiring operating systems like Windows and macOS to collect users’ ages.
California’s law starts in 2027. For now, simply declaring your age is enough, but companies could eventually use facial scans, government IDs or other verification methods to prevent minors from simply lying.
The really important part is that these laws could have effects far beyond the states that passed them. Apple, Google and Microsoft may decide it’s easier to build one age-verification system for everyone rather than completely different systems for each state
