Golf in Chicago has become extremely expensive over the last few years. Found a cool website that tracks prices for peak times. My thoughts below Must Plays for Best Value: Highlands of Elgin Prairie Landing Sunset Valley George Dunne High Price but Worth it: Glen Club Mistwood Thunderhawk Cog Hill Dubsdread - play at non peak time Harborside Port/Starboard - play at non peak time Extremely Overpriced, don’t pay: Bolingbrook - thanks LIV Preserve Oak Meadows - $57 increase in 3 years!? Cantigny - nice but way too high Ruffled Feathers - absolutely not golfscout.net/golf-course-pr…

Ruffled Feathers is probably the worst deal in the entire city, I am never not disappointed in the condition of that course. Agreed with all your “must play” picks! Trying out Stonewall Orchard this weekend.

Stonewall is great, slightly overpriced but you won’t be disappointed

Add Shepherds Crook and Kankakee Elks for value I’d anticipate the George Dunne rate to increase in 2027 to recoup bunker renovation costs, but for the time being it’s an absolute steal The most egregious pricing I’ve seen this year is M-F before 730am is $49……after 730am? $95 👀

I debated adding shepherds crook, definitely worth it. I agree, George dunne will start going up

Add Hilldale to the list of Must Plays for Best Value. Pristine layout, great conditions, only $40 in the afternoons. An absolute gem.

Idk how anyone can play ruffled feathers and think that was worth $100. No ball washers and terrible sand bunkers

The sand bunkers alone destroy the value

Pretty good list. Ruffled at one time had 18 + all soft drinks and food you could eat for like $100. Preserve up to $125 - when some tee boxes are chopped up like Columbus Park. 😩

Agree with this. Great list. I have played all these courses 10+ times. Prairie landing is the best I’ve been to this year. Preserve is nice big nearly nice enough for the price. Ruffled feathers is absolute trash and it’s so disappointing. Used to play there often.

I paid over 100 dollars for ruffled on a Saturday morning three seasons ago. Have never felt more taken of advantage of in my life.

Harborside used to be around $60 for a cart at 2pm on Weekends. Now it's $80+. This jump happened within the last 5 years as well.

Prairie landing used to be like $80 with cart during and pre-pandemic. Definitely closer to the bottom tier. And it’s my favorite course in the western burbs still

Good course, I’d say it’s priced right at about $100. Worth playing for sure
