.@CapitalOneArena is rocking for the @WashMystics final tune up before the @WNBA playoffs get underway. It has been a true joy watching this team play this season. Kudos to the players, coaches and staff that make it all happen. And thank you to the best fans in the league for being with us every step of the way. A few hours ago, this was equipment, concrete, mulch and a very long to-do list. Now it’s a playground. A place where kids get to be kids. Our @MSE employees, partners, and neighbors spent the day at Friendship Public Charter School’s Chamberlain Campus alongside @Capitals and @WashWizards players to paint, assemble equipment, pour concrete, move mulch, and do whatever needed to be done. Thank you to everyone who picked up a shovel, a paintbrush or a tool today. Truly my favorite day of the year.

It is a tremendous honor to be elected Chairman of the @NHL Board of Governors. Before and throughout my ownership of the @Capitals, I have first and foremost been a fan of this league and game. I’m grateful to Jeremy Jacobs for his many years of leadership, to Gary for his stewardship and to my fellow owners for their trust. Looking forward to working alongside Vice Chairman Murray Edwards to continue pushing the league forward.

I’ve saved a lot of things from my life in sports. One of them is this ticket from the first event in MCI Center history, a 95-78 Wizards win over Seattle. RIP to a truly wonderful person, Mike Sweetney. He never forgot his Georgetown roots and lived his life the Hoya way. Praying for his family, friends and everyone whose life was touched by his kindness. He will be deeply missed.

Yesterday we joined @dcpublicschools and @UnderArmour at Johnson Middle School to put new sports gear directly into the hands of girls from Wards 7 and 8. A strong community creates opportunities for its young people. Sports are one of those opportunities, and I want more kids across Washington to have the chance to play.

All great companies have one thing in common: great people. On and off the court and ice, @MSE has been made better by the people who have worked here throughout the years, and by our consistent commitment to investing in them, supporting their growth and giving great leaders greater responsibility. As Monumental continues our growth story, I am thrilled to announce the next evolution of our leadership team. I have great confidence in @ZacharyLeonsis, Grant Hastings and Jordan Silberman as they step into new and expanded roles, and in the entire leadership team we have built. They know Monumental inside and out and understand the responsibility we have to our teams, our employees, our fans and our community. I have never been more excited about what we are building and the people we have putting it all together. Our best days are ahead!

Always great to be on the campus of @marymountu with @DrIrmaBecerra. I visited last week to speak with the students about leadership and adaptability. An entrepreneurial mindset is valuable no matter what career you pursue. Be curious. Stay adaptable. Be accountable for the decisions you make and to the people you serve. Learn to recognize where the world is going, not just where it has been. Appreciate the poignant discussion and thoughtful questions. On this day, we will #NeverForget. Twenty-five years later, we remember and honor the lives lost on September 11, 2001, the first responders who answered the call, and all those forever changed. We carry their memory with us today and always. 🇺🇸

Our athletes understand the responsibility that comes with representing this community, and they continue to show up for it.

Our family and organization join the hockey community in mourning the passing of Barry Melrose. I had the pleasure of meeting Barry on numerous occasions. Barry did what he loved. He lived hockey — he played the game, coached in the NHL, helped grow the sport and brought an unmatched enthusiasm and passion to everything he did. He shared that passion with fans across the country for so many years on the national stage with ESPN and was truly one of the best to ever do it. I distinctly remember him being on the ice in Vegas interviewing Ovi and our players after we won the Stanley Cup. It was a special moment. Our thoughts are with Barry’s family, friends and the entire hockey community during this difficult time.

We are so proud of T.J. Oshie and former head athletic trainer Stan Wong on being inducted into the @usahockey Hall of Fame Class of 2026! Both will be honored in a ceremony this November in Washington, D.C. #ALLCAPS x #USHHOF
