getting Americans paid for their data | tech populist

too many businesses in America have been actively pissing in the face of consumer trust. money can’t buy loyal customers when they hate you. dissent is won over through: meaningful action painting better visions delivering better products addressing real concerns building real trust people need to feel a sense of safety and reliability to move the needle toward trust. that is the relationship that builds the lifetime loyalty that hasn't existed in generations. LTV is measured on the wrong scale. how you make people feel will always beat any logic, any predictive data. every time.

Free ethical unicorn idea: Boy Scouts but they sell local produce for farmers door-to-door. Like yes, you sweet 6th grade boy, I will pay you $80 for frozen meat + produce grown upstate to arrive at my door in 6 weeks. This would solve some of the major bottlenecks for American farmers in the agricultural supply chain too. Your welcome? @motherearth @GretaThunberg

The whole point of this circus is to ascend. Earth gave you trauma, lust, ego, money, fear, exes, taxes and algorithms, and you still think the mission is to get comfortable? Fam, how many side quests do you need before you clock the main one? Earth is basically spiritual GTA. Temptation everywhere, random boss fights, people trying to rob your energy, and half the population still thinks the mission is get a mortgage and die politely. The game is simple. Master yourself, stop getting baited by every impulse, learn what the fuck you are, then ascend. People turned the tutorial into a 70-year side quest. Imagine reincarnating 12 times just to keep falling for lust, ego, money and people’s opinions. Brother, complete the fucking level. You got dropped into a body with desires, fear, trauma, hormones, ego and free will, then surrounded by distractions 24/7. And people still can’t work out there might be a test going on. Comedy. Life keeps sending the same lesson wearing different faces and people keep calling it bad luck. Fam, at some point you’ve gotta pass the fucking exam. The wildest part is people think the goal is comfort. Nothing about this place looks designed for comfort. It looks like a spiritual obstacle course You came here naked, leave with nothing, and somehow people think the whole point was collecting shit in between. Mad

this is the only founder tool I would ever pay for. Kinda in awe.. Really brilliant alignments of incentive, competition, meritocracy, building in public, gamification, distribution/visibility, dopamine hacking, etc. @Nlacombe_ 👏👏

Offshoring virtual assistants was popping off for a while. And in the blink of an eye, it seems barbaric to pay a teenager slave wages to offload admin work. Thats what AI is for☺️

The bar for hardware design has been raised SUBSTANTIALLY. Let me most sleek, immersive wearables win 🏁
$META just unveiled $1,299 VR glasses weighing only 100g by moving the battery and compute into an external pack. Bigger shift is that Muse becomes the interface because Zuck says you can “just talk to it” while any flat surface can become a keyboard.

more tech optimists must be willing to speak the truth past dissent in their day-to-day lives. speak up. SACK up. it is up to young, unafraid people dedicated to building the future of tech to set a better direction. to paint a better picture of the future like the jetsons, not mad max fury road. people do not need to be convinced that AI is 'cool'. that ship has looong sailed. they need to see what this can do to better their lives. 'new media' has a duty to bring life-enhancing innovation to the mass market thru media. and i'm prepared to carry that torch in my niche. bc it’s existential.
