Sanctions are the modern siege. It is a deliberate tactic designed to destabilize a country by pushing its people to a breaking point, hoping internal misery will spark a domestic collapse.
It will be written in history that the Iranian diaspora never once filled Western streets to demand an end to the illegal sanctions and siege on ordinary Iranians (put in place by the West), but gathered in their thousands to chant for the return of a so-called prince through bombs dropped on their own people, all while spewing hatred toward Muslims and Palestinians. The core demand of the original protestors, before their movement was hijacked by Pahlavist and Mossad-aligned armed actors, was relief from economic pressure and collapse. US and Israeli officials themselves proudly claimed the currency fall was of their doing and boasted of placing operatives next to protestors inside Iran. Economic warfare, followed by relentless information warfare, has twisted the reality of what Iranians are suffering from and now pushes military warfare as the “solution”, demanding to turn a slow death into a rapid one for those living inside Iran. This nation has survived much and will survive this too. The only outcome of all this will be the eventual irrelevance of a failed Pahlavi identity project built on hate, racism, and a profound lack of concern for the lives of Iranians inside Iran.

So why were the suspects released on bail, Kallas? If they're IRGC agents, are they just supposed to walk freely around? What an idiot you are.
The UK has now concluded that Iran’s Revolutionary Guard was almost certainly behind the threat to Fairford airbase. Iran’s campaign of intimidation and chaos extends well beyond the Middle East. I join my counterparts in condemning Iran’s hostile activities. The EU has already designated the Revolutionary Guard as a terrorist organisation. We have sanctioned Iranian officials for undermining freedom of navigation and serious human rights violations. The UK is a close partner, and we stand firmly with them. Europe put itself in this position by 1) refusing to pursue strategic autonomy, 2) destroying its own credibility over the Iran War in hopes of quid pro quo with Trump on Ukraine. Now it has nothing: no US security umbrella, no voice on HR/intl law, no standing in MENA
US has decided to sacrifice any semblance of common purpose with Europe on Ukraine for continuing the war with Iran. For Europe, the Ukraine war and the Russia threat remains its most significant strategic problem. Arguing that Iran is a civilizational enemy of the West, going back to Ancient Greece, cannot paper over this significant break between US and Europe.

The time to make the deal was 8 years ago! If the EU had stood up to Trump and continued importing Iranian oil in 2018, we would not be in this current mess. That would also have allowed a much stricter embargo of Russian energy in the first year after the invasion of Ukraine.
It is time for the EU to make an oil deal with Iran.

America has genuinely fallen into the hands of a bunch of idiots.
Trump imposes sanctions on ICC because he didn't win the Nobel Peace Prize 😭😂 Petulant child.

One day, sooner than you think, history will forget your name or remember you only as the piece of shit you were. You and your pathetic little boss.
We believe that the West can awaken from its long slumber – and rekindle the fire that was first lit in ancient Greece millennia ago.

Meet Robin. Robin reads that nurses and teachers can't survive, pensioners aren't being paid, and ordinary people are suffering and calls it "excellent." Robin is pleased that the Iranian suffering might serve a political objective. Don't be like Robin.
Excellent @nytimes article on the economic meltdown in Iran. The regime isn’t paying nurses and teachers who are quitting to survive. Pensioners are no longer getting their pensions. The blockade and US sanctions are exacting a heavy toll… nytimes.com/2026/10/04/world… via @NYTimes

The only thing you seem to have mastered is repeating Trump's lies @MichealMartinTD
JUST IN: IRISH TAOISEACH ON IRAN: “Ireland has consistently stated that Iran must cease its attacks on its neighbors and also end its destabilizing activities across the region, including strikes on ships in the Strait of Hormuz. Vessels must be allowed to transit the strait safely and without tolls in line with international law. If we are to build greater stability, Iran must never have a nuclear weapon. Iran’s destabilizing influence across the region must cease. We need dialogue to achieve a negotiated settlement.”

Hey @MichealMartinTD, Apparently your courage conveniently disappears when it comes to saying anything about US and Israeli. Are you so busy licking Trump's boots that you've forgotten how to speak when it actually matters?

Kallas pivoting from celebrating US-Israel's assassination of Iran's head of state and their war of aggression, a crime that Nuremberg Trials deemed "the supreme international war crime"...to lecturing the victims about international law & human rights.
I met with Iranian Foreign Minister Araghchi on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly. We addressed diplomatic prospects for ending the US-Iran war and fully re-opening the Strait of Hormuz. There were no tolls or fees for passage before the war, and there should be none after the war. Navigation must be free and unimpeded, both in the Strait of Hormuz and the Bab al-Mandab Strait. I also raised domestic repression inside Iran, including the sharp rise in executions and death sentences.

Kaja Kallas hasn't *once* condemned the Trump administration for illegally bombing Iran — which resulted in the closure of the Strait of Hormuz — or for massacring 120 innocent schoolchildren. But here she is, proudly proclaiming that she's putting pressure on Iran to reopen the Strait and improve its human rights record. The West has become a joke in the eyes of the rest of the world. Most of its leaders come across as complete clowns. They are complicit in murdering children in cold blood, and they deliberately break international law left, right and centre. Yet they have the audacity to claim moral and legal high ground on the global stage.

Carney, Canada's PM: Trump's threat to annihilate Iran is just a "language of war".
Reporter: But do you think that Mr. Trump goes too far when he says he is considering destroying Iran? Mark Carney: Well, there is a war underway, and he's speaking the language of war.
