Much of the critical commentary on @CollegeGameDay is misguided and sprinkled with jealousy, but not this! @TheChadWithrow is spot on with this, and frankly it speaks to a greater issue in live sports shelf programming. Anytime you’re live on site a certain amount of control is lost, but it’s deemed worth it for the electric atmosphere that draws fans there and greater interest from viewers! Times are different than they were in 2007, since Peyton’s hilarious SNL skit when his cussing was bleeped. The bleeping is what evoked laughter. No such bleep is available when LIVE, and as a result curse words are flying around these live shows like the banners they’ve always seen as grand endorsements to the show. One noticeable change, in recent times the infiltration of Hosts of webcasts being accepted on broadcast television. There’s a difference between the 2 mediums, but it appears the line of difference has been blurred considerably.
