Happy Birthday to the late Ralph Jordan, out of Selma, Alabama; The legacy of Ralph “Shug” Jordan is defined by his status as the most successful and revered head football coach in @AuburnFootball history. Beyond his incredible football acumen, his legacy is deeply intertwined with his service as a decorated WWII hero and his gentlemanly devotion to the Auburn community—He coached @AuburnFootball for 24 seasons ( 1951-1975), compiling a historic record of 176-83-6. Jordan led the Tigers to their first consensus National Championship in 1957 with a perfect 10-0 record, earning him National Coach of the Year honors—During WWII, Jordan served as a major in the @USArmy First Engineer Special Brigade, helping plan and execute amphibious logistics. He was injured by shrapnel in his left arm and shoulder while storming Utah Beach on D-Day but continued to fight through the invasion. During the invasion, Jordan famously carried a clipping of the Auburn Creed in his combat boot for strength and inspiration—He was inducted into the @ASHOF as part of the very first inaugural class in 1969; 9-25-1910 to 7-17-1980 ( aged 69)

Happy 93rd Birthday to my HS Coach-the incomparable HOF’er Hubie Brown. He taught me as a HS Sophomore that Coaching is about Teaching! The impact that a Coach can make on a person’s Life. He brought me to the NBA with the Atlanta Hawks and changed my life.
