🏆Congratulations to Max Bucklan, one of six winners of the inaugural Lasker Video Contest!
Max is pursuing his PhD in the @DukeU Program in Genetics and Genomics. In the lab of Simon Gregory, Max uses leading-edge transcriptomic technologies to study the mechanisms of atypical teratoid/rhabdoid tumor, an aggressive and rare pediatric brain cancer.

👋 Meet Max Bucklan, one of six winners of the 2026 Lasker Video Contest!
He really loves LEGO and completed a minor in video production.

Last week, our fearless leader @sgrayg and the rest of the @GeneticsSociety Program Committee went to Capitol Hill to advocate for human #genetics and #genomics research, highlighting the importance of NIH funding 🧬
This summer, we are hosting Samuelle, a senior of @UNRCabnr & @UNRLiberalArts for the @MSSociety Undergrad Summer Research Program! She is examining cortical samples from #MS patients & their #genomic data. Outside the lab, she hangs out with her rabbit, Cowie (looks like a cow).
