If they are guilty of 114 charges, there are ten things that really go against City:
1) This is long-term and widespread fiscal corruption.
2) Various members of senior leadership must have known and aided it.

The cynic in me does think the Premier League/FA gave Chelsea a lenient punishment to allow them to emphasise the importance of charges not breaking FFP and also to not impede investigations... knowing that City did both of these things & thus can fully throw the book at them...

Problem is they basically sponsor themselves. They have been accused of inventing companies with empty offices to sponsor the club.
City’s problems with the PL are just the tip of the iceberg. They have already been stripped of their titles in the court of public opinion and that has enormous ramifications for their commercial partners. Nobody wants to pay for brand association with someone who has been found guilty of cheating, Lance Armstrong was sued by the USPS when he was found guilty. It’s hard to see a scenario where the current owners can remain in charge and rebuild trust. The same goes for anyone else involved in this charade who are currently working at other clubs, they should be banned for life if they’re found guilty.

You have to remember how City treated UK sports journalists who tried to question them and investigate. It was really awful, there were threats.
No one in the British media is gonna feel sorry for them. They arguably despise them as much if not more at that.
