Why Iβm bullish on Ty Schenk, CEO of
@KeetaNetwork
Ty is founder/CEO of Keeta, a Layer-1 built for high-speed, identity-aware, compliance-oriented settlement (cross-border payments, bank rails, tokenized deposits, etc.)
@schenkty stands out among Layer-1 CEOs because his record is operational, not performative.
He is a software engineer by training. Before Keeta, he co-founded BrainBlocks, a merchant payments product on
@nano and worked as an engineer at
@turo He later founded Keeta in 2022 around a specific problem: existing public chains were not designed for regulated value transfer.
In 2023 Ty raised $17 million from
@ericschmidt who publicly stated that Keetaβs technology was βorders of magnitude more scalable and efficient than existing solutions.β
Ty recruited Roy Keene as CTO. Keene was a lead developer at the Nano Foundation and later a senior cloud architect at
@awscloud Keeta launched mainnet in September 2025 & published an independently monitored stress test of 10 million+ TPS with
@googlecloud
Together they built compliance, digital identity, and tokenization into the protocol rather than leaving those functions to application-layer vendors.
@KeetaNetwork has
@VISADIRECT reach and a Keeta-linked card pilot, multi-currency accounts tied to banking partners, and a 2026 joint venture with UAE-based
@askgroupae to modernize billions of remittances and tokenized commodities.
Compare that with the standard L1 CEO profile. Many leaders come from research labs, foundations, or capital formation. Their networks optimize for developers, TVL, and narrative cycles. Throughput is often theoretical; institutional controls are usually outsourced; βTradFiβ talk is unrealistic.
Tyβs path is the reverse: payments product, then institutional constraints, then a chain built to those constraints, then named partners in cards, banking, and a sovereign-linked market.
That shows a CEO whose decisions line up with bank-scale settlement.
