Just over three years ago, the deadliest U.S. wildfires in more than a century devastated the Hawaiian island of Maui. The family of a U.S. Marine veteran imprisoned in Russia says his health is rapidly deteriorating and that he may be on the brink of death. They are pleading for his release. Robert Gilman was first arrested in Russia in 2022 for allegedly hitting a Russian police officer. Gilman was sentenced to 4 1/2 years in prison, but that sentence has since been extended to a decade. @TheStephSy reports.

The sprawling metropolis of Phoenix is an unlikely place to build an apartment complex without parking for residents. Car dependency is just part of life for most people there. But a new development in the suburb of Tempe is providing a blueprint for more environmentally friendly and car-free living. @TheStephSy reports.

President Trump signed an executive order to end a 127-year-old precedent clarifying universal birthright citizenship. Trump is aiming to fulfill a campaign promise to limit citizenship at birth to people with at least one parent who is a permanent resident or U.S. citizen. Students in rural communities graduate from high school at a rate above the national average. But when it comes to applying to college or getting their degrees, those same students' attendance and completion rates are well below their peers in urban and suburban areas.
