I am saddened by the passing of Sir Patrick Stewart.
Like so many, I came of age watching him as a father figure on screens big and small. There was no crisis too big for his stalwart characters to navigate, with wisdom and warmth.

Patrick Stewart, the legendary actor best known for portraying Captain Jean-Luc Picard in βStar Trek: The Next Generationβ and Professor Charles Xavier in the βX-Menβ films, has died at 86.
His family said in a statement: "We announce with great sorrow the passing of Sir Patrick Stewart yesterday at his home in Los Angeles, in the loving care of his beloved wife Sunny, following a brief and poignant journey with Alzheimerβs Disease and Lewy Body Dementia."
"His sonorous voice and singular talent will forever be synonymous with indelible performances in every genre. He explored the human condition in all its poetic complexity and brought hope not only to the far reaches of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but into science fictionβs most iconic final frontier aboard the Starship Enterprise...
