Today in @SenJudiciaryGOP we sent two more of President Trump’s conservative judicial nominees to the Senate floor for consideration. One of the nominees - Judge Anna St. John - has been nominated for the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. Prior to her service as a district court judge, she was a champion for several important causes, including religious freedom and protecting women’s sports. These are exactly the type of nominees who deserve a lifetime appointment to the federal judiciary. I’m proud to cast a “yes” vote for nominees like Judge St. John in committee - and eventually, on the Senate floor.

The main Senate race I care about is making sure Ken Paxton wins in Texas. Ken Paxton has actually proven that he’s willing to stand up and fight back. He’s not part of the establishment and he’s worth voting for imo.

New jobless claims came in at 197,000 last week, and the Labor Department says the average for all of 2026 is now the lowest since 1969. Think about that. In a country of 340 million people, hardly anybody is getting a pink slip right now! Continuing claims fell to 1.72 million, near the lowest since 2023. Layoffs haven't run this cold, this long, in 57 years. They swore the tariffs would blow up the economy and put everybody in the unemployment line. Instead you have to go back to the moon landing to find a year this good!

PAXTON: I think it's difficult to give comfort. If I lost one of my children, I'd be pretty devastated, especially in a way that is so senseless and seemingly has no purpose. I think I would just have to, if I had the opportunity to talk to people, I'd have to say, look, there's always a plan. I believe God always has a plan. Life is short, no matter what it is, and certainly we're not going to make sense of a young child being shot and killed way before their life expectancy. And so, even though we can't make sense of it, I would just have to encourage them to hold on to their faith. And to hold on to their belief that there really is purpose in what God does, and we may not know it now, but someday we will.
