quackd v0.16.1 is out! Rerunning 0.16.0 on the lab arm’s twin on 2026-09-29 found five faults. This is quackd’s first patch, and it fixes them. For example, a trained ACT (100 actions at 30 Hz) served with --latency-s 1.78 starved 86 of 300 ticks in every 10 s segment. The arm asked for the next chunk only after the last one had landed, so any latency past half a chunk left it idle. quackd policy check --bench had said that latency was fine. Now both quackd policy serve and quackd policy check refuse a latency no chunk can carry and report the longest that fits (1.66 s for that ACT). The arm also refuses to connect to a server started by an older quackd, before any torque. In plain terms: the pilot still plans the short pieces of work and hands them to a policy, but the handoff no longer starves the arm of motion. A 10 s segment at 30 Hz now plays exactly 300 ticks instead of 301. A place: jaws sidecar that the gripper can never actually touch is refused at connect. assess now names who said go (--yes said go instead of a generic “the human said go”), and quackd doctor prints joint travel to a tenth of a degree.
