Today we remember the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our nation, defending the freedoms we too often take for granted. Their courage, sacrifice, and love of country will never be forgotten. May we honor their memory not only with words, but by living lives worthy of the price they paid.

One of my favorite parts of the book of Job is when Job corrects his friends and tells them real faith requires maintaining faith when things go our way AND when things don’t go our way. In the wins and in the losses. That’s a hard thing to do, but worth it. Last night’s result were not what we hoped for, but I am deeply grateful to every supporter, volunteer, friend, and family member who stood with us throughout our campaign. We took our message across West Virginia and proved that hard work, faith, and our grassroots conservative voices still matter. I congratulate our Republican nominee, US Senator Shelley Moore Capito, on her victory. She ran a great race that I was not able to overcome. I called her last night to convey this same message and congratulate her. Now is the time for all of us Republicans to come together and support our Republican nominee, Shelley, for the future of our state and our country. We must send a Republican to represent WV in DC. The primary voters have spoken and Shelley is our choice for the US Senate now. Thank you to all who supported me for believing in our campaign and in the vision we fought for together.
