It doesn't matter whether it was intended as a joke or a celebration, and athletic talent should not excuse poor judgment.
Accountability means coaches addressing inappropriate behavior immediately, applying meaningful consequences, and making expectations clear.
Young people are watching. They are learning what adults consider acceptable and what behavior leadership is willing to excuse.
Being a talented athlete does not place anyone above standards of conduct.
