Making a false report to Police is a crime. Why aren't Flock, Axon, and all their fellow universal surveillance companies being held criminally liable for their thousands of false accusations? These are not 'mistakes' in the human sense, these are known systemic issues with the technology that are either unable to be fixed or these companies are choosing not to fix (probably because it would cost a lot!) So they continue to pump out false alerts and reports, wasting police time and ruining innocent lives. It's a VERY easy fix legally... hold the company criminally liable for false reports, especially ones that lead to prosecutions. They would either have to pay a LOT of criminal fines, spend the money to make sure their accusations are accurate, or stop throwing out accusations like confetti. (I'm putting aside the fact that these surveillance systems are a human rights violation for this post, just proposing an alternative approach to stopping the worst of the present abuses)

Environmentalists confuse 'delicately balanced' with 'self correcting'. Most natural systems are NOT 'delicately balanced' meaning if we knock them off balance they run away to collapse... in contrast the truth is they have built in self-correction mechanisms that keep the system within a range. This matters because the 'delicately balanced' idea pre-supposes that ANY changes are dangerous... upsetting the 'balance'. How often do we hear so called environmental experts invoke a concept like "If it continues like this..." But that idea is nonsense when you realise that most of the time it's NOT a case of 'delicate balance', it's a case of 'self correcting'. Nature goes through boom and bust cycles. Too much food leads to too much prey leads to too many predators... then a bust happens. Of course GOOD environmentalist (and there are many, not all are out there to 'weaponise' the 'knife's-edge, delicate balance' myth, but some are...) you'll observe the self-correcting nature of that ecosystem and that it will bounce back fully as soon as conditions change again, and you'll focus your efforts into the places where there is REAL environmental harm, to the degree that the self-correcting bounds have been breached (like toxic waste in rivers) and not waste time and energy on areas where humans are having an impact, sure, and it's change the range within which nature is self-correcting, sure, but it's not any sort of 'collapse'. And YES human interference in an ecosystem will change the bounds within which that system self-corrects, I'm not suggesting humans don't have an impact, that's obviously nonsense, but most human impacts only changes the bounds within which a system self-corrects. The environmentalists who live on the land (which by the way most farmers are REAL environmentalists!) or spend a lot of TIME on the land, know this intimately... which is why you rarely see them scaremongering on TV. The ones you see scaremongering on the nightly news or putting their hand out for grants or donations? They're often the kind of 'environmentalists' who live in the city and work off spreadsheets, and their REAL job is fundraising from the public and from stupid bureaucrats handing out taxpayer grants. This is especially true if they work for a massive 'environmental charity' which needs millions in donations every year just to keep all their desk-jockey 'environmentalists' employed in their cushy concrete jungle airconditioned open-plan office. And if the world at large really grasped the degree to which this 'delicate balance' angle is a myth, and the 'self correcting' idea is reality, most of these 'environmental charities' would go broke, and most of these 'environmentalists' would have to get a real job. And that would definitely improve the environment.
