We really should have included that on the pod. Manchester City's 'disguised equity funding' not only granted them an unfair advantage on the field, it inflated the costs of player and coach recruitment across Europe - and made football more expensive for the fans.

Great pod, one thing that no-one has discussed is the inflationary effect of this financial doping. Not just for wages, transfers but also TV deals and in return subscription fees for the average person.

For many years, I considered the pitched legal battle between Manchester City and the Premier League a sporting and commercial disaster for the competition, with immense risk of damage to all parties.
Now that the Independent Commission has established City's guilt, and laid the scope of cheating to bare, my thinking has changed.
🔻Correctly and justly concluding the process presents a huge opportunity for both the League and the game.
