it seems obvious to me that Hasbro made some kind of deal with Paramount (now Skydance) and gave Wizards of the Coast a list of franchises to pick from to make UB products for. they own the film/TV rights to ATLA, Labyrinth, The Office, SpongeBob, Star Trek, TMNT, & Transformers

Wizards of the Coast doesn't employ any young people who could tell them that zoomers have zero connection to this (frankly) embarrassing 80s/90s nostalgia kick they are on. Final Fantasy and LOTR are evergreen franchises. Star Trek is for the elderly.
