Putting women’s experiences at the centre of the discussion, participants examined barriers to accessing and using financial services, and explored digital solutions that better respond to the needs of women and small businesses. As part of continued efforts to advance Jordan’s transition towards sustainable energy, @UNDPJordan , in collaboration with the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, delivered a capacity-building workshop for more than 30 public sector participants. The workshop focused on de-risking energy efficiency investments and Energy Performance Contracting, strengthening participants’ knowledge of energy efficiency financing, project development, risk management, energy audits, and measurement and verification. The training was delivered through the @UNDP Sustainable Energy Investment Accelerator (SEIA), strengthening public sector capacity to develop and finance energy efficiency projects. Introducing sustainable cooling technologies is one step. Building the knowledge and skills to support their wider adoption is equally important. Building on efforts to advance sustainable cooling solutions in Jordan, @UNDPJordan , in collaboration with the @MoENVJo and the @RSSJor , delivered practical training for participants from the @ASEZA2001 and @JC_Department . The training follows the introduction last year of Jordan’s first large central air-conditioning unit operating with the natural refrigerant R290, launched in the Aqaba Marine Reserve under the Cool Up Programme with funding from the International Climate Initiative (IKI). Through practical learning and demonstration, participants strengthened their knowledge and technical skills in sustainable cooling technologies, supporting Jordan’s readiness to adopt cleaner, more energy-efficient cooling solutions and advance its climate and environmental goals. #UNDPJordan50

Building resilient food systems means addressing interconnected risks together. In the Jordan Valley, rising temperatures are affecting crop quality, increasing food loss and putting additional pressure on farmers’ livelihoods. Through the Advancing Food Systems Resilience in Jordan project, women are learning practical food preservation techniques that help retain the value of produce that might otherwise be lost, while creating new livelihood opportunities.
