Yes, historically, certain Coptic monks and priests in Upper Egypt performed castrations on enslaved boys to supply eunuchs for the Islamic slave trade. THEY DID THAT UNTIL VERY RECENTLY, TO SELL THESE MEN AND WOMEN AS SLAVES. THEY USED TO HELP THE CATHOLIC CHURCH TOO.
