Across Africa, conflicts, displacement, climate-related shocks and other emergencies continue to affect children’s ability to learn and teachers’ ability to teach. The launch of the #Education in Emergencies and Resilience (EiE) Cluster under #CESA2635 marks an important step towards strengthening continental collaboration and ensuring that education remains a priority in crisis and emergency contexts. The Cluster provides a platform for Member States, Regional Economic Communities and partners to connect experiences, strengthen knowledge exchange and advance practical approaches to keeping education systems functioning during disruption. From preparedness and prevention to continuity and recovery, building resilience requires coordinated action across the education sector and beyond. The ambition is clear: education systems that can withstand shocks, adapt to changing circumstances and continue to serve learners when they need them most.
