Family of 18 — kids, a pregnant woman, and a newborn — goes to Fogo de Chão for a 12-year-old’s birthday. This lady claims that the service is a mess: lobster mac comes out cold, they reheat the same plates people already ate from, food takes forever, water never shows, orders come back out to the wrong person. She says they stay seated, didn’t yell or refuse to pay, and just ask to take the bad items off the check. Police show up at the door. Manager’s explanation: they wanted to make sure nobody “ran out.” The birthday girl walks past the officers, gets in the car crying, and says she never wants to go back. So… according to her, they called the cops on a table full of Black people celebrating a child’s birthday because they complained about cold food and then waited to settle the bill. Is there way more to this story, or is “we thought they might dash” the whole official explanation? 😅

I’m sure there was a lot of complaining. They probably wanted their meal for free.

I honestly don’t blame the manager. I kind of find it hard to everything she said. The bill for this meal will be in the $800 to $900 range depending on what they ordered.

If not more money. But I believe she left a ton of details out.

Is she telling the truth? Lunch there is $49 per person. Drinks are extra. Fogo de Chao is a great place!

Unless you see these from the very beginning, there’s a problem with perspective.

Well, she choreographed and narrated her video to fit her own framing.

Didnt the story say the woman was pregnant? She has an alcohol drink?

It just said a woman in the party was. But yeah, there seems to be a few glasses around for the booze.

Do we have the full story? Which location is this? What town, what state?

We only have her perspective and it is probably missing a lot of context.

They always complain so they don’t have to pay the bill. It’s typical for them. They’ll eat almost the entire meal and then complain that something is wrong. BS! They make a scene and bitch about the food and most times, one by one they all walk out. They’re known for dining and dashing. Restaurants need to start getting a credit card BEFORE the drinks and food are ordered. Secure the money beforehand then they can’t dine without paying. Stop the steal as soon as they sit down. They may lose some customers but it will be the customers that steal from them so they’re not losing any money anyway.

Sounds like they’ve been burned before and were taking precautions. Maybe the woman filming herself eating also raised some concerns and when the complaining intensified, the staff knew what was coming next. 🤷‍♂️

Fogo de Chao is an all-you-can-eat option, there’s no items to take off the bill, and you don’t “order” anything

I want to heat the explanation from the people sitting in the restaurant near you.

This is racial profiling, pure and simple. Has they been white, there would've been no question that the bill would've been fixed and no police called.

This is a shakedown. I’m an advocate for businesses fighting back. I’d like to see this restaurant take legal action against them for defamation and attempted extortion (give me everything for free or I’ll post a nasty video). A cost should be imposed on individuals who post these videos for just clicks and likes. Insurance carriers should offer a product to people who work at restaurants or retail allowing them to sue for harassment for reasonable fees.

they were 100% trying to get their meal for free. Make these clowns put a credit card down BEFORE they order.

So again ... it's always something wrong with the food... It's cold, it's wrong, someone ate off the plate (are you serious!!) Yet records herself stuffing her face with all the food she's complaining about... 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️ & then play the victim as always, yet nobody sees the interactions beforehand... and we are supposed to believe a video that THEY post Yeah and oh look I think I just saw my 1st 🐖fly over my house!!

Yeah, Fogo de Chao is an excellent restaurant. There is no way a restaurant that cost $60 a plate sent cold Foods. It’s a lie.

I’ve been to Fogo a thousand times and never even seen anyone order food from a menu. It’s a Brazilian steakhouse. Huge salad area, hot food bar, and a dozed gauchos walking around with skewers offering cuts of steak.

Yet, they continued to eat, video the food and them eating the food. They never video taped the complaint of bad service, cold food or her 12 year old crying on the way to the car.

If I saw police at the door of a restaurant where I was dining, it wouldn’t occur to me to call the manager over and ask why cops were there, because obviously it doesn’t concern me. Unless, of course, I have a sneaking suspicion that I’M the reason the police were called.
