TradeZella just dropped an automated backtesting tool, and it's actually pretty cool. I've never really used automated backtesting before, and Im not going into much detail about my strategy, but I ran it through the tool and it still came back profitable. That's a good sign. That said, automated backtesting is only a small part of the process. Knowing a strategy works is only half the battle. You still need to manually backtest it in replay, then live test it with small size to understand how it behaves in different market conditions. That's where you learn the nuances no automated report can teach you. Personally, I only increase size after I've put in the real-time backtesting and live testing. I constantly see traders get crushed in markets like today’s because they can’t adapt in real time.
