This is why America needs a censorship shield law like the GRANITE Act.
This leaves small websites with a choice of either not servicing an entire state or region, or to shut down entirely due to fear of fines of not complying with age verification laws.
This leaves the internet reserved for big tech companies who own or can afford the service.

...discord's goals are aligned with governments here. this gives them a massive excuse to build profiles on their entire userbase, scan private data, and use the "oh the government forced us to!" excuse whenever they want
